BAT CONTROL SERVICES
Regal Pest Control offers comprehensive bat control services and product installations to address bat issues for both residential and commercial customers.
HOW DO BATS GET INTO A HOME?
There are several ways that bats can gain access to your home. Bats need a much smaller amount of space to gain access than many would think.
The following is a list of areas that can provide access for bats to gain access:
Under ridge caps, under flashing, through a chimney opening due to a missing chimney cap, through an open window or door, through torn/deteriorated screening material used behind vent covers, under peeling shingles, eaves, soffis, window sills, siding, ect.
INSTALLATIONS OF ONE-WAY-DOORS
Bat exclusion is done with the installation of a “one-way-door”. Service begins with an initial inspection to identify where the bats are getting in at and subsequently installing the one-way-door, which allows the bats to leave the home but prevents them from gaining access when they return. Hardware cloth, or a comparable exclusionary material, will be used to close-off any gaps around the installation to ensure that the bats have only the one-way-door to exit the space where it’s installed. Regal Pest Control conducts throughout inspections to identify additional entry-points during our inspections and installations, however we cannot guarantee that we will find all access points to a space, particularly attic spaces.
ONE-WAY-DOOR INSTALLATION SCHEDULE
One-way-door installations are done from March 1st through May 31st and from September 1st through October 31st. We do not install one-way-doors from June 1st through August 30th, as the maternity season for bats is usually June 1st through August 15th. Installing the one-way-door during that time would prevent the mothers from returning to their pups. Please note that we do not remove bats that get stuck in chimneys.
